Western Piedmont Symphony: 2012-2013 Masterworks 2

John Gordon Ross, music director and conductorThe series returns to P.E. Monroe Auditorium on the campus of Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory for a concert by the Western Piedmont Symphony. Debussy’s familiar suite is followed by a lyrical symphony by a Puerto Rican composer inspired by the “Mute Songbook” of the Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca. The program also features music by an American riffing on familiar themes, and Mendelssohn’s majestic symphony.
