Two special guests grace the concerts on this edition of the program. The Spartanburg Philharmonic welcomes pianist Cyprien Katsaris for a Beethoven concerto, preceded by a contemporary composer whose music has been compared to Aaron Copland’s. Then it’s over to Columbia SC for a concert from the School of Music at USC featuring a great American symphony and Tchaikovsky’s beloved violin concerto with soloist Zeyu Victor Li.
